FFMPEG

Privacy Policy

This page describes exactly what data this website does and does not collect. The short version: the converter itself never sees your files. We try to keep this document plain and honest rather than legalistic.

The converter never uploads your files

The video converter on this site runs entirely inside your web browser using FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly. When you drop a file onto the converter, the file is loaded into your browser's memory and processed there. It is never transmitted to our servers, to any third-party server, or to anyone else. There is no upload step, because there is nowhere to upload to — the conversion happens locally on your own device.

This is not a marketing claim that we ask you to take on faith. It is a property of how the page is built: the FFmpeg WebAssembly binary downloads to your browser once and runs against your file there. You can verify this by opening your browser's developer tools, watching the Network tab while you convert a file, and observing that no request carrying your file data leaves your machine.

What data we do collect

Anonymous, aggregated traffic analytics. We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-first analytics service that does not use cookies, does not store any personal data, and does not build cross-site profiles of visitors. Plausible records that a page was visited, the referring site (if any), the visitor's country (derived from IP and immediately discarded), the browser family, and the operating system family. It does not log IP addresses, does not assign you a unique identifier, and does not follow you across sessions. We use this data to understand which guides are useful, how people find the site, and whether new features improve or break the experience.

Standard server logs. Our hosting provider (Vercel) records short-lived request logs containing IP addresses and request paths. These logs exist for security, abuse prevention, and debugging. They are not used to profile you, are rotated by the hosting provider on a short schedule, and are not cross-referenced with the analytics above.

Email you choose to send us. If you write to the26thagency@outlook.com we receive whatever you send and store it in our email inbox for as long as it is useful to answer you. We do not feed contact emails into mailing lists, analytics, or third parties.

What we do not collect

  • Your video files, audio files, or any media you process.
  • Your name, account, or login — there are no accounts.
  • Payment information — the tool is free and takes no money.
  • Location data beyond country-level analytics.
  • Cross-site tracking identifiers or fingerprints.

Cookies and similar storage

The converter itself does not set cookies. Your browser may cache the FFmpeg WebAssembly binary so that subsequent visits load faster — this cache lives on your device and contains no personal data. If you have ad-related cookies enabled at the browser level, those are governed by your browser settings, not by us.

Advertising

We may display advertisements served by Google AdSense. When AdSense is active, Google may set cookies on your browser to measure ad performance and, depending on your region and consent choices, to personalize ads. Google's use of advertising cookies is described in its own policies, which we cannot override but which are publicly documented at policies.google.com. Where the law requires consent (for example, under the EU GDPR or UK GDPR), a consent dialog will be presented before personalized ads are loaded. You can opt out of personalized advertising at any time through your Google Account settings.

Children

The site is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal data through email, please contact us so we can delete it.

Your rights

Because we do not maintain user accounts and do not store personal data tied to identifiable individuals, most data-subject requests (deletion, correction, portability) do not apply in the normal sense — there is no profile to delete. If you have emailed us and want your email thread deleted, write to the address below and we will delete it. If you are in a region with specific privacy rights (EEA, UK, California, Brazil and others), those rights apply to whatever personal data we actually hold — which, for most visitors, is none.

Changes to this policy

When this policy changes in a material way, the "Last updated" date at the top of the page changes too. Minor wording fixes may happen without a date change. There is no email list for change notifications because there is no email list at all.
